GLOBE INTERNATIONAL EXPECTS BETTER SECOND HALF RESULTS 08.04.05
Globe International (ASX:GLB) said it expected a net profit of around $8
million (US$6.3 million) to $10 million for the full year of 2004–05. The
company announced a net profit of $1.3 million for the first half of
2004–05, down (59 per cent) from the $3.1 million reported for the six
months to 31 December 2003.

QUIKSILVER INC ANNOUNCES 2 FOR 1 STOCK SPLIT 08.04.05
Quiksilver Inc (ZQK) announced in late March that the board of directors
has approved a two for one stock split of the company's common shares,
subject to stockholder approval of the amendment of the company's
Certificate of Incorporation at the annual meeting of stockholders. The
split will be effected by issuing one additional share of common stock for
every share of common stock held.

EARTHQUAKE HITS NIAS 08.04.05
Just when it appeared emergency aid efforts where under control in the Nias
region, an earthquake measuring 8.7 on the Richter scale hit in
northwestern Sumatra, Indonesia, at 11:09 pm local time (11:09 am ET) on 28
March 2005. The epicenter of the quake lies along the same fault line as
the one that struck on 26 December 2004, causing the tsunami that killed
hundreds of thousands of people in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
