SHAUN GOSSMANN JOINS OCEAN & EARTH 100% TEAM 08.04.05
22 year-old former South African national champion, Shaun Gossmann, has
signed with major sponsor Ocean & Earth. The two-time Quiksilver Pro Trails
winner signed a two-year deal with O&E and plans to launch a full time WQS
assault. Shaun is based on the Gold Coast and has cleaned up on the
domestic circuit, claiming the MP Classic for a record three years in a
row.

Etnies Footwear has re-signed Toby Martin as their Australian Surf Team
Manager for the next two years. The company also announced it had signed
the following surfers to its footwear program: Mark Mathews, Kai Otton,
Asher Pacey, Sam Page, Micheal Spencer, Kerby Brown, Ryan Campbell and
Ellis Ericson.

Bruce Irons received the ASP Rookie of the Year Award. Bruce, Deano and
Ozzie Wright have been on the mid north coast shooting for Bruce’s new
movie ‘The Bruce Movie’, which will be out August 2005.Volcom Skateboarding
hit Sydney harbour for a ‘nutstraviganzer’ of a time. With two run arounds,
a party vessel, a tug and a barge with a mini ramp, which was set against
the backdrop of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and the battle ships in
Woolloomoolo and Taronga Zoo. The Vans team joined Volcom for the roll. In
total, 15 boards where lost in the drink, as well as some riders. For the

GLOBE’S CAMP HOBGOOD HEADS DOWN UNDER 08.04.05
Globe team riders, CJ and Damien Hobgood, staged their annual elite
training camp on 6–11 April in the Forsters area of NSW, Australia. Camp
Hobgood is a training camp for America’s most promising surfers. However,
this year Camp Hobgood included two of Australia’s top juniors – Yadin
Nicol and Dion Agius.

KAUAI’S BRUCE IRONS SIGNS WITH JS INDUSTRIES 08.04.05
Bruce Irons signed a three-year contract JS Industries. Commenting on the
deal JS Industries Jason Stevenson said, “Having Bruce on team is a solid
plus and a natural progression over time. I have been shaping regular
boards for both Bruce and his brother Andy over the past two years, so I am
looking forward to a more official and intimate surfer/shaper relationship
with Bruce going forward.”
