US RETAIL GIANT KOHL'S TO STOCK HAWK CLOTHING 29.05.05
The Kohl's Corp. is expected to benefit from a number of new brand collections and extensions that the retailer has been honing as part of its turnaround plan, a Prudential Equity Group analyst said. Analyst Wayne Hood cited "the improving trends in store traffic and new-store productivity" he envisions for Kohl's (KSS) as well as "the potential that new brands could provide in sustaining this early improvement trend."

Recently the Surfers’ Hall of Fame committee finalized their choices for the 2005 Surfers’ Hall of Fame ceremony to be held on Friday, July 29, 2005. This year’s inductees are: Robert McKnight, CEO and president of Quiksilver, Tom Carroll, two-time ASP World Champion and Mark Richards, who took the twin-fin innovation and claimed surfing’s world champion four consecutive times; and the late Carl Hayward, a local Huntington surfboard shaper who died earlier this year in his beloved arena, the ocean.

Converse, and Hurley has announced a partnership to produce Hurley footwear beginning with the Spring/Summer 2006 season. Converse and Hurley will collaborate on design and development, leveraging Converse's strength and operational expertise in the category. Hurley will handle brand strategy, design and marketing from its Southern California headquarters.
