MTV and Billabong Ride the Perfect Wave to a Multi-Year International Partnership

Billabong's surf, skate and snow events and athletes will soon be beamed to a potential audience of more than 1 billion in 166 territories thanks to an unprecedented multi-year international partnership between MTV Networks Australia and Billabong International.

"Billabong and MTV represent two dynamic global brands sharing a passion for youth culture, and I see our partnership as a perfect union." said Nigel Robbins, Managing Director, MTV Networks Australia.   "Through MTV's creative programming and Billabong's world-class event expertise, we will create unique properties dedicated to Australian and International youth via the surf, skate and snow experience."

Marking the beginning of the alliance is the third event on the 2005 (ASP), Foster's Men's World Championship Tour (WCT), the Billabong Pro Tahiti.   International MTV crews, including MTV Australia and MTV Brazil, captured all the action live. MTV and Billabong's Back Door to Teahupoo" will air on MTV Australia on June 18th @ 8pm, June 19th at 6.30pm, June 21st at 9pm, June 23rd at 3.30pm and June 24th at 10am and across MTV channels internationally during July.

MTV Australia is a 24-hour music and entertainment network targeting 12-32 year olds on the FOXTEL, Optus, AUSTAR, FOXTEL Digital, and AUSTAR Digital platforms.
