FUEL TV ACQUIRES THE ASP’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TOURS 28.05.05

The (ASP) and FUEL TV have signed a three-year deal securing exclusive USA and select international rights to televise the ASP’s Foster’s Men’s World Tour and the Women’s ASP World Championship Tour, it was announced by Brodie Carr, ASP CEO, ASP President Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew and FUEL TV Senior Vice President and Assistant General Manager CJ Olivares.

"The ASP has seen the demand for our TV content catapult in recent years," explains Carr. "To partner with FUEL TV is a huge achievement and is an exciting step for both of our WCT Tours" he continued. "It illustrates the strength of the sport as well as the public demand for professional surfing on a major media platform."

The Foster’s Men’s World Tour returns to FUEL TV, which televised the 2003 tour in the network’s inaugural year. Beginning in June, each of the twelve men’s WCT stops along with Women’s ASP WCT events is scheduled to be telecast in prime time on FUEL TV. The men’s tour will also be telecast on sister sports network FSN (Fox Sports Net). FUEL TV will televise multiple repeats of each event across a variety of timeslots, enabling the broadest possible audience to view the program.

"The return of the ASP to FUEL TV is a terrific success," said a representative from FUEL "The only tour with the world’s best surfers at the most exotic and surf-rich locales, the ASP’s WCT is the preeminent surfing tour and provides an exhilarating view of competitive surfing."
