Over 200 people went through Manly’s Dripping Wet surf shop on Friday 11 March to meet longboard surfing legends Robert August, Wingnut and short boarder Wayne Lynch. “It was a really awesome event,” says Dripping Wet co- owner, John Radcliffe.

“Financially it was a success; we sold three boards and heaps of surfing videos, DVDs and other memorabilia such as posters for the guys to sign,” he says. “Surftech contacted us about visiting Dripping Wet after they had taken the guys to the Noosa Festival of Longboarding.” Surftech also donated a Robert August board to be raffled, which was won by local Fred Stillitano. “The board is going straight in Fred’s pool room,” says John with a laugh.
